Breezy Point falls to Granite City in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Granite City pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Breezy Point on a clutch goal by Tyler Mros.

Granite City was sparked by Mros, who racked up one goal and one assist. Mros scored 53 seconds into overtime to make the score 4-3 Granite City. Tanner Skaja provided the assist.

Granite City kept Breezy Point\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Christian Sanzottera made 38 saves on 42 shots.

Granite City also got points from Tommy Hall, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Granite City included Spencer Zwiener and Mathew Sprink, who each put in one. In addition, Granite City received assists from Casey Esselman and Adam Marty, who contributed two each.

Breezy Point stifled Granite City\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Breezy Point was helped by Seyia Hayata, who tallied one goal. Hayata scored on the power play 2:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breezy Point. Breezy Point had gotten the advantage when Granite City\’s Mros was sent off for boarding. Tyler Larwood picked up the assist. Breezy Point additionally got points from Larwood, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Breezy Point also got a goal from Christian Lenzmeier as well. More assists for Breezy Point came via Nick Blanchette, Jake Tomkowiak, and Austin Langworthy, who each chipped in one.

Granite City\’s Mac Berglove stopped 15 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Granite City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Breezy Point incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
