Granite City beats Alexandria 4-0 as Johnson gets hat trick

Brycon Johnson lifted the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 4-0 victory with a hat trick against the Alexandria Blizzard.

Johnson got on the scoresheet 9:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:31 into the third and at 14:40 into the third.

Granite City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Lumberjacks\’ offense rang up 35 shots on Alexandria\’s net.

Granite City also got a goal from Tanner Skaja as well. More assists for Granite City came via Dallas Marvin, who had two and Blake Phenow, Zach Voss, Jared Sprink, Alek Groth, and Michael Orke, who contributed one each.

The Blizzard could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Alexandria puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. The Blizzard struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Granite City to score two power play goals on three chances.

Kendall Meyer made 15 saves for the Lumberjacks on 15 shots. Granite City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Evan Bisek rejected 31 shots on goal for Alexandria. The Blizzard incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
