Granite City downs Twin City, 5-2

Jared Sprink finished with one point to lead the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 5-2 victory over the Twin City Steel.

 

Twin City was unable to stop Granite City from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumberjacks eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Granite City also got points from Tanner Skaja, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Granite City included Zach Voss, David Horsmann, and Georgy Ostapchuk, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Granite City were Mitchell Gwost, Tobias Gabrielsen, David Kenney, Travis Kothenbeutel, Spencer Zwiener, and Dallas Marvin, who contributed one each.

The Steel did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 10 saves. Twin City was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time.

Jesse Garcia made 10 saves for Granite City on 12 shots. The Lumberjacks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Parker Butler rejected 29 shots on goal for the Steel. Twin City registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
