Mid Season Call Ups

Jan 17, 2013

As the Granite City Lumberjacks reflect on the first half of their 2012-2013 season they feel they have many accomplishments to look back on. The most recent news is that this weekend Drew Otto (Menomonie, WI) and Dakoda Menslage (Cape Cod, MA) have been given an opportunity to play in the NAHL. Port Huron’s head coach Michael Gershon (and fellow Brockport Hockey Alumni next to GCL’s Howie Borden), called upon Drew Otto last week to come practice and play in that weekend’s match up against Johnstown. The match up brings excitement to Lumberjacks fan as Dakoda Menslage has been called up by the Johnstown Tomahawks for those weekend games. Other promotions in the first half the season have the Lumberjacks excited as well.  Other NAHL promotions were; Mitch Humphries spent a couple days of practice with Coulee Region, Dakoda Menslage (Cape Code, MA) signing a NA3HL tender with Johnstown Tomahawks, and Nathan Kohlenhoefer (St. Louis, MO) was called up to the Aberdeen Wings, playing 5 games and recording 2 assists.
