The Lumberjacks defeat the Jr. Blues 3-1

Jan 27, 2018

David Mulligan came up big, stopping 31 of 32 shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead early in the first on a goal from Jordan Olson and never looked back.

Jordan Olson had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first period, Sikich opened the scoring for Granite City with a goal at 4:18. Olson quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:57 with a helper from Dibari.

In the third, Jones finally put the Jr. Blues on the board with a goal at 5:09. Neu answered for the Lumberjacks with a goal at 12:59 with assists from his teammates Altena and Olson.

Granite City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Mulligan’s big night as he stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced. On the other hand, Mulligan’s counterpart, Bjella, and St. Louis’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 22 of 25 shots.

This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (23-11-0-0).
