The Lumberjacks defeat the Steel 3-2

Mac Berglove came up big, stopping 25 of 27 shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Eric Moser.

In the first, Erickson opened the scoring for New Ulm with a goal at 4:37 with helpers from his linemates, Campbell and Egle. Leivermann put in a goal at 15:42 with assists from his linemates, Martinez and Scherz.

In the second period, Sprink finally put the Lumberjacks on the board with a goal at 4:18 with helpers from his linemates, Neu and Jamnicky. Dahl netted a goal at 6:53 with assists from Lund and Baker.

During the third, Moser deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 8:59 with a helper from Moran.

Granite City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Berglove’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. Berglove’s counterpart, Siclovan, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (64-16-10-4)
