Twin City survives Granite City comeback, wins 4-3

Granite City tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Twin City held on for a 4-3 victory.

Twin City made the score 4-2 on a goal by Zak Lambrecht at 19:40 in the second period, and Granite City got as close as 4-3 when Matt Flom scored 16:51 into the third period.

Twin City was sparked by Lambrecht, who had one goal.

Twin City\’s defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Twin City additionally got points from Adam Vannelli, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jared Erickson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Twin City also got a goal from Fritz Belisle as well. In addition, Twin City received assists from Luc Kreuser, who had two and Ben Hersman, Nicholas Campbell, and Alex Egle, who each chipped in one.

Granite City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Mathew Sprink also scored for Granite City. More assists for Granite City came via Spencer Nelson, Braden Altena, Tanner Skaja, and Chase Di Bari, who contributed one each.

Gunnar Howg rejected 14 shots on goal for Twin City. Twin City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mac Berglove recorded 12 saves for Granite City. Granite City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
