Ahlgren leads North Iowa to shutout victory over Granite City

Tommi Ahlgren was superb between the pipes for North Iowa, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over Granite City.

North Iowa was led by Quinn Fuchs, who tallied one goal. Fuchs scored 1:19 into the second period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa. Marshall Barnes assisted on the tally.

North Iowa stifled Granite City\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. North Iowa\’s offense operated below its season average. North Iowa averages 6.3 goals per game.

North Iowa also got points from Carmen Dalesandro, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. North Iowa also had goals scored by Sean Mallonee and Tommy Stang, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for North Iowa were Kohei Sato, who had two and Ryan Durant and Joe Burgmeier, who each chipped in one.

Granite City was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Granite City surpassed its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game.
