Alexandria’s Ryback deadly on offense in 5-2 win against Granite City

Behind a great game by Aaron Ryback, who had four goals, Alexandria defeated Granite City, 5-2.

Ryback got on the scoresheet 8:38 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:15 into the second, at 5:20 into the third, and at 18:48 into the third.

Alexandria\’s penalty kill excelled, as Alexandria gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Granite City was unable to stop Alexandria from sending pucks towards the net, and Alexandria eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Alexandria found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Alexandria averages 2.8 goals per game.

Alexandria also got points from Logan Norman, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Trent Olson, Connor Busse, and Logan Nelson, who each chipped in one and Tyler Frischmon and Connor Nilson, who contributed two each.

Granite City was held below its usual level of production. Granite City puts an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game. Granite City gave up more goals than its normal season average. Granite City gives up 2.3 goals per game.

Granite City was led by Adam Marty, who had one goal and one assist. Marty scored short handed 8:12 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Granite City. Granite City played down a man on Trevor Cornelious\’s boarding. Tyler Mros assisted on the tally. Michael Piehler also scored for Granite City. More assists for Granite City came via Casey Esselman, who had one.

Evan Bisek rejected 27 shots on goal for Alexandria. Alexandria incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Nathan Isaacson recorded 29 saves for Granite City. Granite City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
