Breezy Point falls to Granite City in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

John Suess gave Granite City a 3-2 (OT) victory over Breezy Point when he scored 3:51 into the extra period.

Granite City was led by Suess, who had one goal.

Granite City stifled Breezy Point\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Granite City\’s offense rang up 32 shots on Breezy Point\’s net.

Granite City also had goals scored by Braden Altena and Andrej Jamnicky, who each put in one. In addition, Granite City received assists from Kevin Finley, who had two and Eric Moser, Zack Cole, Chase Di Bari, and Mathew Sprink, who contributed one each.

Breezy Point excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Breezy Point kept Granite City\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Mac Berglove made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Breezy Point was led by Josh Laven, who tallied one goal and one assist. Laven scored 1:25 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Breezy Point. Reise Kieffer provided the assist. Breezy Point also got a goal from Tyler Larwood as well. Other players who recorded assists for Breezy Point were Seyia Hayata and Ryan Mezera, who each chipped in one.

Granite City incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Christian Sanzottera rejected 29 shots on goal for Breezy Point. Breezy Point incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
