Granite City blows out Minnesota, 5-1

Granite City had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over Minnesota.

Granite City was paced by Mathew Sprink, who finished with one goal. Sprink scored 12:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Granite City. Lucas Carroll picked up the assist.

Granite City stifled Minnesota\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Granite City\’s offense rang up 31 shots on Minnesota\’s net.

Granite City also had goals scored by Michael Piehler, Adam Marty, Will Mix, and Matt Flom, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Granite City were Tyler Mros, who had three and Spencer Nelson, Tanner Skaja, Kevin Finley, and Chase Di Bari, who contributed one each.

Robbie Goor made 17 saves for Granite City on 18 shots. Granite City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brady Griffin recorded 26 saves for Minnesota. Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
