Mitch Humphries, a forward for the Granite City Lumberjacks, recently spent two weeks away from the team and participated in the 2013 IIHF U20 Division II Group B World Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia, for Team Australia.
Humphries led Australia in goals and total points. In the 5 games Australia played, Mitch ended with 3 goals and 3 assists and was a +5. He was also named assistant captain for the team prior to their arrival in Serbia and was named player of the game versus Iceland.
At the conclusion of the 5 game round robin tournament, Mitch earned the Best Player Award for Team Australia.
Team Australia finished 4th in the final standings for the tournament.
