Jacks Split in Chicago

Friday – 7-2 Win – After an 11 hour bus ride battling snowy travel conditions, the Lumberjacks traded goals with the Hitmen in the first period.  Opening the scoring for the Jacks was Nick LaRue assisted from Tyler Stoller and Zac Sikich.  Also scoring in the first period was Trevor Ness assisted from TJ Christenson.  That knotted the score at 2-2.  The Lumberjacks then went on to score 5 unanswered goals.  Taylor Portner led the Jacks scoring 3 goals in the second.  TJ Christenson buried a Trevor Ness rebound and Nathan Kohlenhoefer put one away from the top of the circles.  Assisting on the Jacks goals were DJ Vold (2), Trevor Ness, Aaron Azevedo, Sam Irving, Riley Bengtson (2) and Peter  Lindblad.  Matt Grove made 21 savesfor the win.

 

Saturday – 4-2 Loss – After an impressive offensive attack the previous night, the Lumberjacks had a tough time finind the back of the net an come up short on a 4-2 game.  Scoring for the Jacks were DJ Vold off a nice cross slot pass from Taylor Portner and Riley Bengtson from DJ Vold.  Grant Holler made 24 saves in the loss.
