Friday – Granite City @ Twin City Steel – 6-3 Win
The Lumberjacks came out flying Friday night out shooting the Steel 27-9 while building up a 3-0 lead by the end of the 1st period with goals from Brian Richert, Taylor Portner and Tyler Cayemberg. In the 2nd, the paced slowed a bit with the Steel scoring twice and the Jacks lone goal from Peter Lindblad. The 3rd period was much like the second with teams playing pretty even. Lindblad and Cody Chiverton scored for the Jacks before giving up a late goal to the Steel.
Matt Grove had 24 saves for the win
Saturday – North Iowa Bulls @ Granite City – 4-3 Loss
Jacks saw a 2-0 lead, goals from Brian Richert and Tyler Cayemberg, vanish by the end of the first period. The second period went scoreless but not without chances both ways. Peter Lindblad scored just :51 seconds into the 3rd giving the Lumberjacks the lead. The Bulls evened it up 3 minutes later and scored their game winning goal with just 2:17 remaining in the game.
Grant Holler made 23 saves in the loss.
Sunday – Granite City @ MN Flying Aces – 8-2 Win
Lumberjacks score 2 powerplay goals and 2 shorthanded goals to down the Flying Aces. Scoring for the Lumberjacks Peter Lindblad (2g, 2a), Trevor Ness (2g, 2a), Aaron Azevedo, TJ Christenson, Nick LaRue and Zac Sikich.
Matt Grove made 22 saves in the win.
