North Iowa's Burgmeier deadly on offense in 5-2 win against Granite City

Joe Burgmeier was all over the ice for the North Iowa Bulls, as he tallied two goals in North Iowa's 5-2 win over the Granite City Lumberjacks.

Burgmeier scored at 3:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Iowa and again while on the power play 16:47 into the second to make the score 3-1 North Iowa.

 

North Iowa also got points from Brett Gravelle, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Dylan Zins also scored for North Iowa. More assists for North Iowa came via Ryan Durant, who had one, Joe Kleven, who had three, and Evan Mills and Connor Bump, who each chipped in two.

Granite City did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lumberjacks average 4.7 goals per game. Granite City's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Lumberjacks average 1.6 goal allowed per game.

Granite City was led by Georgy Ostapchuk, who registered one goal. Ostapchuk scored 10:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mitchell Huffman assisted on the tally. Granite City also got a goal from Blake Phenow as well. In addition, Granite City received assists from Adam Marty, Jared Sprink, and David Kenney, who contributed one each.

The Bulls' Jordan Moran stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. North Iowa incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Bulls, Kleven was ejected from the game. Sam Goetsch made 24 saves for the Lumberjacks on 29 shots. Granite City incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
