The Lumberjacks defeat the Blizzard 3-1

The Granite City Lumberjacks' offense had a big night, peppering the Alexandria Blizzard with 29 shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Logan Neu and never looked back.

Braden Altena chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Sikich opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with a goal at 4:11 with helpers from his teammates Altena and Olson. Neu netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:00 with an assist from Lienemann.

In the third, Brett finally put the Blizzard on the board with a goal at 8:03 with a helper from defenseman Jack. Altena answered for Granite City with a goal at 19:27 with an assist from Mulligan.

The Lumberjacks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Mulligan as he stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced. Mulligan’s counterpart, Brady, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 28, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (41-10-5-2).
