The Lumberjacks defeat the Bulls 5-4

David Mulligan came up big, stopping 27 of 31 shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Owen Sikich.

Owen Sikich did his part, adding 2 goals and Nick Castro chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Cameron Fagerlee had a busy night with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Tyler Bump contributed with 2 assists.

During the first period, Sikich opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with a goal at 1:57 with helpers from his linemates, Altena and Moran. Castro deposited a goal at 18:48 with helpers from his teammates Deboom and Salz.

In the second, Bissett netted a goal at 1:45 with assists from Dibari and Salz. Blackowiak finally put North Iowa on the board with a goal at 15:20 with helpers from his linemates, Fagerlee and Bump.

In the third, Deboom answered for the Lumberjacks with a goal at 3:42 with an assist from Castro. Sikich netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:45 with helpers from Buhl and Baker. Studioso answered for the Bulls with a goal at 15:09 with assists from Dolter and Joyaux. Arnold quickly followed with a goal at 16:35 with helpers from Studioso and Joyaux. Fagerlee quickly followed with a goal at 16:45 with an assist from Bump.

Granite City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Mulligan’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 31 shots he faced. On the other hand, Mulligan’s counterpart, Hawk, and the Bulls’ defense did not have such a great night allowing 5 goals in 25 shots.

This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (25-14-0-0).
