Mac Berglove posted a shutout, stopping all 23 of the Breezy Point North Stars shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead early in the first on a goal from Braden Altena and never looked back.
Braden Altena had a busy night with 2 goals and Ryan Smith delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first period, Altena opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:31 with helpers from teammates Smith and Esselman.
In the second, Altena deposited a goal at 12:44 with assists from Lund and Buhl. Smith put in a goal at 19:21 with helpers from Haugo and Esselman.
Granite City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Berglove’s shutout, as he stopped all 23 of the shots he faced. Berglove’s counterpart, Moore, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 38, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (34-8-5-2)
