Ridge Gerads posted a shutout, stopping all 9 of the Breezy Point North Stars shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead late in the second on a goal from Braden Altena.
Braden Altena contributed with 2 goals and Owen Sikich chipped in with 2 assists.
In the second, Altena opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:59 with helpers from Beyer and Sikich.
In the third period, Altena deposited a goal at 12:48 with assists from his linemates, Schwehr and Sikich. Dibari scored a goal at 15:27. Kaehler quickly followed with a goal at 15:50 with helpers from teammates Dahl and Buhl.
Granite City’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Gerads’ shutout, as he stopped all 9 of the shots he faced. Gerads’ counterpart, Ehrlich, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 30, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (30-14-0-0).
