The Lumberjacks shutout the North Stars 5-0

Nick Bucklin posted a shutout, stopping all 30 of the Breezy Point North Stars shots throughout the game. The Granite City Lumberjacks took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Ryan Pearson.

Ryan Pearson did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Owen Sikich delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

During the second period, Pearson opened the scoring for the Lumberjacks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:26 with a helper from Altena. Castro netted a goal at 14:25 with helpers from his linemates, Towers and Ohmes.

In the third, Sikich deposited a goal at 8:55 with assists from his linemates, Altena and Pearson. Schwehr scored a goal at 16:57 with an assist from his teammate Sikich. Pearson netted a goal at 19:59 with helpers from his linemates, Sikich and Altena.

The Lumberjacks’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bucklin’s shutout, as he stopped all 30 of the shots he faced. Bucklin’s counterpart, Moore, also had a big night, managing to stop 43 of 48, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Granite City Lumberjacks’ record to (5-0-0-0).
