The Granite City Lumberjacks, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward Grant Troumbly has committed to play Division III hockey for Concordia College-Moorhead, member of the M.I.A.C. located in Moorhead, MN.

Troumbly, ’98 from Bovey, MN, concluded his second season playing with the Lumberjacks, compiling 33 goals and 18 assists and was a +29.

When asked about his experience with Granite City, Grant had plenty to say. “I absolutely loved playing for Granite City.  As soon as I came in, they [Lumberjacks] welcomed me with open arms and I felt at home right away. Playing for the Jacks is special because you feel like you are part of a family. You feel like you’re battling for your brothers every night. Instead of playing junior hockey to get to the next level, you feel like you want to keep getting better to win a championship with your brothers and win for the whole Lumberjacks family.”

Prior to joining the Lumberjacks, Grant was a member of the Greenway High School varsity team located in Coleraine, MN. “My rookie season with the Lumberjacks was a little tougher. I played less of a role on the team behind veterans, but I knew my second year I had some big shoes to fill and had to step up my game and be a leader.”

“Grant was a beast for us this past year. He worked extremely hard over the summer and came back for his second season and was able to put up the numbers he wanted. I am sure he will continue his scoring at college, and we wish him the best of luck” stated Head Coach & General Manager Brad Willner.

During his two-year career with the Lumberjacks, Troumbly accumulated 68 points in 78 career games and was a +45. “I want to give a huge thanks to all of the fans, coaches and players who helped me with my college commitment. I couldn’t have done it without you” stated Troumbly.
