Wilson commits to Marian University

The Granite City Lumberjacks, proud members of the NA3HL announce that defenseman Zach Wilson has committed to play Division II club hockey for Marian University, member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey League located in Fond Du Lac, WI.

Wilson, ‘00 calls Fond Du Lac, WI home so deciding to attend the local school was an easy decision. Zach concluded his only season playing with the Lumberjacks, scoring 2 goals and 7 assists and was a +25 in 38 games during the 2018-19 season. “Overall I had a great time playing with the Jacks and wouldn’t have changed that experience for anything” stated Wilson this month when asked about his stint in the Granite City. “I loved playing for the Jacks. The coaching staff treated us above and beyond what they needed to. From washing gear to feeding us on the road and finding us awesome billet families who took care of our every need… everything they did was amazing.”

Before coming to Granite City, Zach was a member of the Fond Du Lac High School varsity team located in Fond Du Lac, WI. Playing college hockey back home will be an easy transition for Wilson who enjoys a big crowd. “Playing in front of a home crowd was an amazing experience, knowing that a lot of people supported us was an awesome feeling.” “Zach was the easiest player I had to coach. He would do whatever he was told to do and always went to battle for his teammates” stated Granite City Lumberjacks assistant coach Eric Moser.
